The Google Map (Premium) Block:

The Google Map block and The Google Map (Premium) block are extremely similar. They work in exactly the same manner, you simply add the block to any area and a Google Map is created on your web page. The Google Map (Premium) block offers a few extra features that the standard Google Map block doesn’t.

• Ability to Upload a KML file (If you don’t know what this is, then we reccomend using the standard Google Map Block)
• Ability to choose between Map or Satelite views
• Ability to set height of Map in pixels

The standard Google Map block is extremely useful, the Google Map (Premium) block is available for more experienced users that need more advanced options.

The API Key

The API Key is needed in order to use the Google Map Block. If you do not submit an API key into the proper text box HotWax will not allow you to create a Google Map Block. Receiving an API is extremely easy, simply click on the link in the create Google Map Block window that says Sign Up For Your Key, this will take you to google.

Accept the terms of the agreement, enter your website’s address, and Google will generate an API key for you. Copy the key at the top of page, beneath where it says, “Your key is” and paste it into the create Google Map Block.
